A list of all extra-curricular activity participants will be provided to all teachers at the start of every athletic season. This list is constantly updated by information submitted by the coaches to the Athletic Director.
Each teacher of each student listed will make a weekly check using the student's cumulative grade as of the date noted on the memo. If a student is failing, he/she will be ineligible for one week beginning Sunday and lasting through Saturday of the following week.
The student/athlete will be allowed to take part in the sport practice but not allowed to participate in the athletic contest.
Proper school citizenship is required for participation in athletic programs. The negligence of citizenship should be directly reported to the administration who will then take necessary action.
In order for an individual to compete in interscholastic athletics, all regulations and requirements set forth by the PIAA must be fulfilled as well as the WAHS extra-curricular eligibility policy. It is the coaches' responsibility to explain eligibility requirements to all student athletes at the start of the sport season and to monitor their academic progress.
Student must have passed at least four full-credit subjects or the equivalent during the previous grading period. Whenever students spend approximately double the amount or time in class under "block" scheduling in comparison to "traditional" scheduling, a credit that a student is carrying under "block" scheduling would be the equivalent of two credits under "traditional" scheduling in determining athletic academic eligibility, except when eligibility is determined by final credits at the end of the school year.
